Motivation and Communication

SUMMARY OF UNIT

This unit will explore both the theory and practical application of motivation techniques required by an aspiring leader looking at both self-motivation and how you will motivate others. This is supported by and exploration of emotional intelligence and its influence on establishing an effective communication culture as a leader in your organisation.


LEARNING OUTCOMES

By completing this unit, trainees are expected to:

• Discuss how self-motivation and motivation of others is a key component of effective leadership
• Explore their own understanding of emotional intelligence and its influence on their own leadership behaviours
• Understand the benefits of establishing a culture of effective communication
• Describe how they may influence positive change within their workplace from what they have learnt in this unit
